The Scotland Yard Scheduler is a FREE separate download and is used to automatically update
employee's in/out status when the employee enters in future whereabouts events. When the
date/time passes, events entered in to the future status database will then automatically
update the employee's status and the new status will be seen on the status board.
The Scheduler comes in two flavors:
1) A Windows NT Service
2) A Desktop application.
The preferred method is to download and install the Windows Service on your server (or workstation).
This way the scheduler is always running and you can be sure future status events will be updated.
The Scheduler can run unattended on Windows NT, Windows 2000, Windows 2000 Server, Windows 2003 Server,
or Windows XP.
The Scotland Yard Scheduler Desktop Version is used for companies using Novell, or for those
companies that don't wish to install the Scotland Yard Windows NT Service on their production
server or mission critical NT/2000/2003 servers. The Desktop Vesion must be running for
automatic in/out status updates to occur. In other words, if you install the desktop
scheduler on a receptionists computer and that computer is turned off or not logged into
the network, no status updates will occur.
